can be used as neutralizing medicine; as the Heaven where the heavenly
Father, Mother, Grandfather and Grandmother reside, the heaven where
the heavenly sound comes from, the heaven where the heavenly breath
comes from, the heaven where the heavenly thought comes from; the
heaven where the heavenly mind comes from; all get united again.
That is what is called Sarawadhu , which later becomes the earth
and the sky. Between the earth and the sky, there is the headed-Na
jewel which later becomes the sun. In the lower part, there is Lara
jewel which later becomes the moon. The flow of the water becomes
stars of dew. Be known that all are in yourself ..) The ingredients
include clear fresh water put into a clay jar, chopped arjuna hibiscus
(rosa sinensis), temen leaf, chopped red endong leaf (cordilene
fructiosa), red rice, enough sasantun offering completed with
its accompanying components,
[6b] and 2700 old Chinese coins. The offering
is in the form of two items of red rice cones, of which the tips
are filled with cooked black rice. This is completed with a sampian
offering made from rice and red andong (cordilene fructiosa),
and grilled (baked) red-feathered chicken, of which the entrails
are also baked. All of the offerings are placed on a bamboo-plaited
klatkat sudamala (a kind of container). The accompanying
magic formula is as follows: "Ih sang kala ghni lodra, iki
tadah cacaronta, gseng ikang gring, poma, poma, poma"
(Hey Sang Kala Ghni Lodra, do have the offerings offered to you)..
After the recital of the magic formula, the used offerings are thrown
at a crossroad, while the water kept in the clay jar is to be used
for bathing the patient in the same way as when one is taking a
bath. There is another medication called Panca Ghni, whatever can

strength to produce five kinds of fire with the holy alphabet SANG
BANG TANG ANG ING. My God, it is hoped that the white fire coming
from the heart will burn all kinds of illness coming from the east,
and that the red fire coming from the earth will burn all kinds
of diseases coming from the south)

Ong ghni pangrenga mtu ring karnna, ghni tinghal mtu ring socca,
ghni Ongkara ring irung, ghni maya mtu ring tungtung nging lidah,
angeseng sahananing tuju tluh tanjana, desti moro tiwang sampulung,
babahi, sahaninang lara roga, ring kulit ring daging, ring otot
ring balung, ring sumsum, kalebur kagseng denira sang hyang aghni
sabwana, mtu gseng, gseng, gseng. Ong ghni sabwana murub makabar-makar,
murub sira angebekin pakaranganku ne, yen ana wong ala pakane, ala
kira-kirane, wastu kita gseng manda- (that the yellow fire coming
from the kidneys will burn all kinds of diseases coming from the
west, that the black fire coming from the bile will burn all kinds
of illnesses coming from the north, and that the five colored fires
(mixture of the white fire, the red fire, the yellow fire and the
black fire) will come from the pile of heart to burn all kinds of
diseases coming from the middle. My God, it is hoped that the fire
of Pangrenga (the shine of hearing) will come out from the ears
, that the fire of Tinghal (The shine of sight) will come from the
eyes, that the fire of Ongkara will come from the nose, that the
fire of Maya will come out from the tip of the tongue to burn all
kinds of rheumatism resulting from black magic like illness of tiwang
and illness caused by magic charm both in the skin, in the flesh,
in the nerves, in the bones and in the marrow. They are all destroyed
by the Lord of Fire which is called Sanghyang Ghni Sabwana. My God,
in your personification as flaring Ghni Sabwana, you flare up all
over my body. It is hoped that if there is someone who intends to
do something wrong, he/she will get burned in such a way that you
will become)

ANG AH, akunpangalah sakti (ash, and that whoever oversteps me or
gets access under me, he/she will get burned in such a way that
he/she will become ash because there is fire flaring up in front
of me, on my left hand side and right hand side. (By reciting the
holy alphabet : ) ANG AH ANG AH ANG AH, I am the supernaturally
powerful conqueror). This is the medication called Astu Pungkuh,
repellent of all kinds of diseases and contamination. The ingredients
include fresh water which is put into a sangku holy water container,
chopped dedap leaf, white bija rice, both put into the water container
already filled with water. The accompanying magic formula is as
follows: Ong wastu pungkuh dangarcaya ya siwah, astu bhatara
siwa, angluaraken sakwehing lare mtu aku wala addhi, kasungsang
carik, katadah kala, katiti bhaya, kabanda bandana, katadah kala,

jong ngunting-ngunting, sara padha tunggaking wareng, prawu sarat

five heavenly holy men, and are expiated by the teaching of Sanghyang
Mandariksa, Sangyang Taya, Sangyang Cadusakti, blessed by Sanghyang
Saraswati, expiated and released so that they all get healthy again
as before, far from magic charm and curses and it is also hoped
that they will live long)

pangaruhmu ring sariran ni ngulun, yan ko sumurup soring sagara,
wasdtu to ngko mtu wetan pupug wetan (to kill the strength of Ni

offering, of which the components are 6 liters of rice, 6 liters
of sticky rice, 6 liters of black rice, 250 old Chinese coins, a
roll of white thread. The magic formula that should be recited is

putih rupanta, tuju tluh tka saka kidul, pamulih kita mangidul,

Sanghyang Ruda, Sanghyang Brahma, Sanghyang Kala and Sanghyang Ruda
become submissive . All parts of the universe are submissive. Due
to the strength of Bhatara Guru and Sanghyang Tunggal , all parts
of the universe become submissive. Every creature with hands, feet,
mouth and eyes are submissive and love me. Bhatara Guru expiates

being submissive is provided by Bhatara Guru and Sanghyang Tunggal.

my tongue as well so that she will change her form as Bhatari Uma.
Bhatari Uma goes home to Cungkub. Then Bhatara Guru descends from
Heaven bringing water of life with a pitcher made of precious stone).

linukat dadi hyang rathih, mantuk ring swargga suralaya, tanana
durgga, tanana leyak, tanana tluh tranjana, mantuk ring swargga
suralaya, amor sira ring bhatara guru, lah poma lah poma lah poma
(for Bhatari Uma , as expiation so that she will become Hyang Ratih
again and go home to Heaven. Therefore, in the earth there will
not be anything frightening, there will not be ghosts and black
magic because all will go home to Heaven to get united with Bhatara
Guru . It is hoped that everything will be successful). This
Pamatuh Agung medication method includes the ingredients such as
fresh water, kayu sakti (dedap) wood, coiled with tridatu thread
three times. Then the water is sprinkled while turning left three
times. The magic formula which should be recited is as follows:
Bapanmu, ANG, anganggo saka wnang, salwiring mabayu, masabda,
maidep, tka patuh tka patuh tka patuh (Heavenly Father, (by reciting
the holy alphabet ) ANG, it is hoped that every creature which breath
reduces sound and has thought will be submissive and friendly to
me). This is the medication method called the Pamatuh Agung
Bumi Aeng including haunted plantation and family compound. The
ingredients include fresh water kept in a sangku water container
made from silver or copper. The accompanying magic formula is as
follows: Ong aeng aeng, tan hananing aeng aeng, ila-ila tan hananing
ila-ila,, mandi-mandi tan hananing mandi-mandi,, wnang-wnang, tan
hananing wnang-wnang, apam inghulun wenang, apan aku sang hyang
darmma wisesa, anglukataken sabhuwana, anglukataken jagat, angalahaken
bhuta dngen, (My God, it is hoped that the places which are believed
to have magical power will become powerless , that the wicked persons
will not hurt anymore, that the powerful black magic will become
powerless and that the persons who like doing something bad as they
like will not do that anymore due to the strength of my magic formula
as I am Sanghyang Darmawisesa who expiates the universe and whatever
is in it,)

anglukataken lara wighna, uphataning wong atwa, ujar tan prasandi,
uphataning desa, kalukat dening gangga sakti, kagseng de nira bhatara
brahma, saka wetan kidul kulon lor ring tngah, ring sor, ring luhur,
gni murub makatar-kataran, panggesengan sarwwa mandi, lebur ila
tan pasesa, Ong sa ba ta ai I na ma si wa ya, Ong norana bala-bala
, duk tan hana saking tan hana angawang-ngawang, anguwung-uwung,
duk nora langit, duk norana purwwa, duk norana kekeres, duk norana
madya, duk norana komara komari, duk norana swasta, apan aku sang
hyang darmma sakti, ngi syah mangtan, aku mangundur gni, mangundur,
banyu manglor aku mangundur, greh swaranku, krug kcapku, kilat angkihanku
(defeats the wicked people, wipes the illnesses out, expiates all
curses both done by man and the village with holy water from the
holy river. Bhatara Brahma burns all kinds of magic charm with flaring
fire from the east, west, north, middle, below, and above in such
a way that nothing is left. (By reciting the holy alphabet:) OM
SA BA TA A A I NA MA SI WA YA , there will not be any disturbances
as they will go back to where they come from respectively. Nothing
will get back to nothing, there will be no ether, rainbow and sky.
There will be no creatures as I am the personification of Sanghyang
Dharmasanti. I chase all away to the east direction with fire. I
chase all away to the north with water. Thunder is my sound and
utterance. Thunder and wind are my passion).
[26a] angin, apan aku angundura, sakwehing
dorakala, bhuta dngen, sakwehing angker sagunnanmu, sapangan gunnanmu,
sawisayanmu, kapugpug kapuja denku, apan aku sang hyang darmma sakti,
ngi, Ong sang hyang tirttha kamandhalu, angurip-hurip wong janma
manusa, mandadaka kita matetles, makatles kita bhuwana alit, di
lemah pucuking lemah mendek paguyanganing warak, has ulung kasi
ratan dening banyu suci, kalukat padha maluya jati, mamarek kita
ring bhatari kusuma wadon, padha mamarekin kita ring bhatara guru,
lanang mamarekin kita, wus mawarnna kita, wus mandadi kita widyadhara
widyadhari, sampun kita maruta dede, sampun kita marupa durgga,
sampun kita marupa kumangmang, mantuk kita kaswarggan, madamar-damar
kita, masu- (Because I chase all of the wicked spirits such as Dorakala,
Bhuta, Dengen away. I also chase the creatures with magical power
away. It is hoped that your magic charms are made powerless by my
magic formula as I am the personification of Sanghyang Dharmasakti,
who, together with Sanghyang Tirta Kamandalu, take care of the human
life and safety. All of the places which have magical power are
expiated so that they will become holy as before. Hey the female
wicked spirits , you had better become the servants of Bhatari Kusuma.
The male wicked spirits had better become the servants of Bhatara
Guru . After that you will become beautiful women. Stop the frightening
appearance and becoming the spirits who are roaming around. You
are supposed to go back to Heaven where you will become bright),

ksapku, sang hyang hayu pinaka buratku, sang hyang tulak tanggul
pinaka kmuhku, luput aku dinesti, luput aku sakrya upaya, apan aku
tosing sang hyang taya, aku sakti, ngi, Ong sa ba ta a I na ma si
wa ya, ngi (you will look shiny and graceful with your yellow clothes.
That is the change of your appearance.(By reciting the holy alphabet)
ONG SA BA TA A I NA MA SI WA YA, Sanghyang Taya Taya will be my
bathing place. It is Sanghyang Panu who will be the means of washing
my hair. Sanghyang Mandiraksa will be the soap for cleaning my skin.
Sanghyang Hayu will be the powder for my skin. Sanghyang Tulak Tunggal
will be the water for washing my mouth so that I will keep away
from the black magic and what the wicked persons intend to do on
me. As I am the son of Sanghyang Taya, I am supernaturally powerful.(By
reciting the holy alphabet) ONG SA BA TA A I NA MA SI WA YA).
Make available such ingredients as yellow bija, leaf of dedap, red
flower of hibiscus (rosa sinensis L.), fresh water in a sangku

swaha. Idep aku liman putih amangan pandestyane tka tulak tka tulak

lungha kita maring kabuyutan, sang mpu pradah anglukat kita, lungha
kita ring pempatan agung, kala kalika aran kita, bhujangga lewih
anglukat kita, aja kita aweh ala, ring awak sariranmu, lungha kita
ring setra agung, bhatari durgga angawe kita, apan aku pangawaking
panca pandhawa, tan wani ya ring aku, wastu (The Sundanese magic

tka hilang ring awak sariranku (that all kinds of transformation
will not dare to me, because I am the personification of Mpu Pradah
. It is hoped that you will be submissive to and love me and that
all go away from my body). Make available as the ingredients
such things as the rope used for pricking the nose of the buffalo,
which is to be dipped into the water kept in a black sibuh coconut
shell container, which is later to be used as the nose drops for
the patient. During the treatment, the healer is supposed to meditate
in front of and facing the kamulan shrine in the family temple complex.
The magic formula which should be recited is as follows: bhuta
dngen saking sarira, mentokaken saking sarira, bhuta dngen ring
kulit, bhuta bhang ring daging, wtu adalan ring wuk, bhuta saliwah
ring otot, mtu saking jariji, bhatara sangkara ring tngah, mtu adalan
ring rambut (Bhuta Dengen residing in the body will get united with
the soul. Bhuta Dengen residing in the skin and Bhuta Bang residing
in the flesh will get out through the suppuration. Bhuta Saliwah
residing in the nerves will get out from the fingers. Bhatara Sangkara
residing in the middle will get out from the hair). After that
please beat your chest three times. This is the magic formula for
taming the bhuta evil spirit: Ih tka saking sarira, iki tadahan
tutur palungha, sun konkon maring syanu, anluh ya, andesti anranjana,
mangsula maring awake, apan mangkana panunalah lilah liluh lilah
liluh, sing awdi den anembah, wdi wdi wdi, (Hey, after you reach
the body, here are some advices for you. I ask you to go to someone,
because he/she likes practicing black magic such as teluh, desti

tken pyanakmu, tka pugpug, dening awak sariranku, klod kawuh papundhuranmu,
siddhi kedep mandhi mantranku (My God, I am praying that I will
be successful. You are the Almighty . Your mouth makes everybody
happy. Therefore, do come to my body. You can practice the black
magic of teluh and tranjana . Get them back to your heart. You are
able to create the illness of tiwang moro . Get it back to your
hands and feet. All will get back to yourself, your wife and your
children. All are hit back by my strength. Go to southwestward.
