Usada Kuda

[1b]  This is the medicine for the horse which suffers from mucosity on the nose. The ingredients include: frying oil, Jerangan and Jasun to be ground and mixed with oil, and then rubbed on the horse's nose and face. If the horse suffers from this kind of diseases, the ingredients include a certain type of fruit called tumukus and a certain type of orange called jeruk linglang (linglang orange) , which
[2a]  are to be rubbed hard on the horse's nose. The medicine for the horse suffering from this kind of diseases, consists of ingredients which includes; a certain type of flower called kasturi to be processed into powder and inserted into the horse's nose. The medicine for the horse with this kind of diseases, includes the following ingredients: jerangan and jasun which are to be fried with coconut oil and then rubbed onto the nose and head of the horse. If the horse
[2b]  suffers from this kind of diseases, the ingredients of the medicine include: the saliva taken from beneath the chin of the horse and kasturi weighing (1 kepeng) a coin all to be blown into its nose. The ingredients of the medicine for the horse suffering from mucosity on the nose include: warm coconut oil which is to be rubbed on the nose, so that the liquid will run out of it. If the horse suffers from this kind of diseases, the ingredients of its medicine include: fried beacon,
[3a]  added with salt, and pepper, and used is to compress the nose. This is the (herbal) medicine for the horse which is thin. The ingredients include: certain types of leaves such as kantawali, dapdap kong (a kind of Erythrina Variegata), liligundi (Vitex Trifolia Linn), pancasona padang tata-iwak, kasebseb, sulasih, and manggala salt , to be ground gently, boiled and then added with coconut oil,
[3b]  this is used for herbal drink. If the horse is thin, the ingredients of the medicine include: ripe fruit of Morinda Citrifolia L tree, gundul pepper, candlenut, garlic, and sesame-seeds all to be ground. If the horse is thin, the ingredients of the medicine include: the leaves of liligundi (Vitex Trifolia Linn),
[4a]  antawali, kasimbukan, pancasona, padang tata iwak(types of grass and leaves), kasebseb, dapdap tis (Erythrina Variegata Linn), sembung (Blumea Balsamifera), black Carum Roxburghianum Benth, and kalabet, to be used for herbal medicine. If the horse is thin, the ingredients include: dried Maduri leaves, liligundi (Vitex Trifolia Linn), tamarind, and kecubung (Brugmansia Suaveolens) leaves
[4b]  all mixed with basa-basa leaves to be boiled and when warm it is to be rubbed on the legs. If the horse is lame, the ingredients include: the skin of the majakeling (Terminalia Belerica Roxb) tree which is burnt and ground, added with manggala salt, this medication is rubbed on the nose. If warm medication is required, the ingredients include: the tuber of the tawa wood and
[5a]  Majakeling (Terminalia Belerica Roxb) which are mixed of which the liquid is rubbed on the eye. If the horse is wounded, the ingredients include: a certain type of grass called padang lepas, abu dapur (ash from the cooking fire in the kitchen) and Manggala salt ,to be mixed and applied to the wound. If the horse suffers from eye diseases, the ingredients include: majekeling (Terminalia Belerica Roxb), gundil pepper (a certain type of piperaceae), and manggala salt all extracted,
[5b]  rubbed with banana blossom to be blown onto the nose. If the horse suffers from eye diseases (The eye has worm in it), first the dirt together with the worms are taken out, the medicine is salt; if it is hard to take the worms out, a needle is used to do that so that the nose can be cleaned, especially the lower part between the eyes. If the horse suffers from eye diseases, majakeling (Terminalia Belerica Roxb)
[6a]  and manggala salt are used for medicine. These are made wet with banyu water (water produced through the process of rice soakage ). These are to be blown into the nose. If both eyes are wounded , the ingredients include: chopped young palm leaf and ancung rahab, all soaked in water and then blown into the nose. If the horse is sick because of the heat, the ingredients include: kalimoto leaf, teges leaf, young beetle leaf, apuh wood,
[6b]  piduh, orang-aring (Eclipta Alba Hassk), asam (Tamarinda indica) and pepper for medicinal herb. If the horse suffers from eye diseases, the ingredients include: ginger, manggala salt, small aromatic lemon (Citrus hystrix), coconut milk, and ginger root (Alpinia Galanga) to be blown into the nose (tutuh).if the horse is wounded, the ingredients include: burned nutmeg to be spread on the wound. If  the horse
[7a]  suffers from trachoma, the ingredients include: burnt young palm leaf ,of which the white ash is taken and mixed with manggala salt, then pounded before being rubbed on the eye. If the eye produces liquid, the ingredients include: jeruk linglang ( a certain type of orange) ,of which the inside part including the seeds, are taken out in such away that
[7b]  turmeric can be inserted into it before it is burnt in the fire, when it gets warm, the inside part is taken out, and when it is cool down it is put on the eye. This is the medication for the sick horse. The ingredients mainly include: the extract of sindura, shrimp paste, sendawa gunung, pijer cina, jeruk linglang, gundil pepper, liligundi (Vitex Trifolia Linn)  leaf
[8a]  and clove all fried and ground gently to be applied to the eyes of the horse for ten days. The following medication is for eye drop for treating trachoma. The ingredients include: the dust of the rib of palm-leaf, the fruit of kelor (Hore Radish Tree), and manggala salt, which are ground gently and then rubbed on the eye. The herbs for the horse
[8b]  which suffers from swollen stomach include, ingredients such as; sticky rice, thick coconut milk, the juice of the main turmeric (Curcuma Domestica Val), sugar, and manggala salt for drinking. The herbs for the horse with swollen stomach include such ingredients as; bitter ginger, sugar and salt for herbal medicine. The herbs for the horse with swollen stomach (kembung padat)is the young leaf of bamboo tali (bambu tali = a certain type of bamboo used for making rope = Bambusa sp )
[9a]  added with salt, and then put into the mouth of the horse. The herbs for the horse which suffers from diarrhea include ingredients such as the extract of the main turmeric, mur, remek daging (meat which is chopped), asam tanek (steamed tamarind) , pure coconut milk, pancasona and manggala salt , which are all pounded for making herbal medicine. This
[9b]  is the medication for the horse with sprained leg, the ingredients include: bangle ( Zingiber Cassumunar ), pepper, kepulaga cardamom all to be pounded gently, kusambi(Malay Lack tree = Schleichera Oleosa) oil which is normally used for powder, and this medication is used for covering the part of the leg which is sore, in order that it gets cured, and this medication is the same
[10a]  as that for the horse which has difficulties in stepping (stiff/slow). If the leg is seriously sprained, make the horse swim in deep water in a correct way, after swimming, it is to be massaged using bangle (Zingiber Cassummunar) , pepper, kapulaga cardamom, asam tanek (steamed tamarind), enough kusambi (Schleichera Oleosa) oil, the part of the painful or swollen leg is covered and bandaged
[10b]  using this medication. The herb for the horse with bent leg (the leg gets uncontrollably bent), include ingredients such as : Alpina Galanga of which the size is as big as that of the chicken head, 20 nutmegs, 2 portions of a certain type of temu ireng (Curcuma Aeroginosae), manggala salt , Morinda Citrifolia, black corum Roxburghianum Benth, 7 slices of jerangan, garlic , and red brick
[11a]  all to be mixed and ground, before being mixed with sesame-seeds and clean water for herbal medicine. The medication for the horse with swollen leg include ingredients such as: a certain type of wood called kayu tulang, the albumen of newly laid chicken egg, all used for the herbal medicine. If the leg of the horse is swollen , the ingredients include: ginger, chili (tabia bun), which are softly ground,
[11b]  the medication is applied to the part of the leg which is swollen. If the leg of the horse is trembles , the medication includes ingredients such as red clay, turmeric leaf, and manggala salt to be used as powder. If the leg is swollen, the ingredients of its medicine include honey comb to be heated and dropped onto the end of the leg of the horse. The medication for the thin horse includes ingredients such as; its dung which
[12a]  is burnt, tabia bun (Piper Retrofructum Vahl.), that is, a certain type of chili  of which the leaf spreads like the battle leaf to be ground and diluted with orange juice, applied as powder on the end  of the leg. The medication for the thin horse caused by molting includes ingredients such as; the fruit of Arenga Saccharifera , ground and boiled until soft, and with lukewarm water is put in a coconut shell (tengkulak = the pericarp of the coconut), into which the four ends of the horse legs are soaked
[12b]  If the horse's hair falls out, the ingredients of its medicine include: Jeruk linglang ( a certain type of orange) and salt to be used for rubbing , the four ends of the legs. If the horse's hair falls out, the ingredients include: the young skin of katima tree and the skin of the tree stem which is peeled and softly ground until it becomes watery.
[13a]  The lukewarm water of the ingredients is put in a pericarp of a coconut, where the four ends of the horse's legs are soaked. If the end of the leg is wounded, the ingredients, include : the hair of the black cat to be burnt and applied to the wounded part; and covered with wax. If the end of the leg is wounded, the ingredients include ; rasa which is applied to the wound, and then covered with wax

If the horse is in a weak condition and the hair falls out or begins molting ,the ingredients include: its burnt dry dung , the tabia bun (a kind of chili = Piper Rectrofractum Vahl)  wrapped in banana leaf, then burnt in a fire, ground softly, diluted with vinegar, and rubbed on the end of the leg. If the clekutikan of the horse is getting thin and the hair falls out, the ingredients include kusambi (Malay Lack tree) oil , cobweb
[14a]  and salt . If the horse's clekutikan gets wrinkled, recite this mantra charm; Bapa Hing delo mamasteni, den dadi celekutikannya mula; After reciting the mantra charm, the clekutikan is rubbed with salt, jeruk linglang and then applied with the palm fruit (kulang kaling = Arenga Pinnata Merr) powder which is diluted, to be used
[14b]  for soaking the four clekutikan. This is the medication for the horse with swollen leg as a result of scratches; the ingredients include: masui (Massoia Aromatica Becc), intaran (Leaf of Azedarachta Indica Juss), jeruk linglang, all rubbed on the wounded leg. The medication for the horse of which the testicle is swollen, the ingredients include; beetle leaf, garlic, and sweet palm juice,
[15a]  added with powder to be applied on the swollen part. If the horse has a swollen testicle the medication includes the following ingredients: chicken egg and sugar which are mixed and squeezed for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse with swollen testicle includes the following ingredient: its saliva to be rubbed on the testicle with concentration done prior to the rubbing, twice a day, in the morning and in
[15b]  the afternoon. The medication for the horse with swollen testicle includes ingredients such as burnt onion, and fennel which are mixed and ground softly, to be rubbed on the testicle. The medication for the horse with swollen testicle includes ingredients such as: its dry dung ground and added with vinegar which has been kept for years, to be rubbed on
[16a]  the testicle of the horse. The medication for the horse with swollen testicle includes ingredients such as; chicken egg, and sugar all mixed for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse with swollen testicle includes ingredients such as; alum diluted with jeruk linglang, to be massaged on the swollen part. This
[16b]  is the medication of the horse with eye producing liquid and dirt; the ingredients include: the young fruit of Morinda Citrifolia L, gundil pepper , garlic/ jasun which are softly ground, and added with coconut oil to be used for the herbal medicine. The medication of the horse with eye producing liquid and dirt includes ingredients such as; the young fruit of Morinda Citrifolia L, garlic, gundil pepper, sugar,
[17a]  candlenut, and manggala salt for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse with eye producing liquid and dirt includes ingredients such as; the fruit of Morinda Citrifolia L, gundil pepper, onion, garlic, spices powder which are mixed with coconut oil which weights two tahil ( a measurement of weight for gold and opium) for the herbal medicine. This is the medication for the horse
[17b]  with sore hoof, and swollen leg. The medication includes the following ingredients: sindura, coconut oil, a certain type of grass (rumput lepas), mur, all heated for its powder. If the horse has swollen genital, the ingredients include; clove, manggala salt, the fruit of Aegle Marmelos Correa tree, the flower of nutmeg tree (Myristica Fragrans Hout ),and musi coriander, all of which are to be fried
[18a]  Garlic is squeezed, added with rice wine for the herbal drink. The medication for the horse having problem in urinating( the horse has difficulties in urinating). The ingredients of the medication include: Nyangli leaf, the albumen of the chicken egg, and manggala salt, all to be pounded for the herbal medicine. If the horse has difficulties in urinating, the ingredients of the medication include; the flesh of young
[18b]  green coconut which is steamed and mixed with sugar, manggala salt, and ground and mixed with sweet palm juice for the herbal medicine. If the horse has difficulties in urinating, the ingredients of the medication include bangle (Cassummunar Zingiber) leaf, the albumen of newly laid chicken egg, which are ground softly for the herbal medicine. The medicine
[19a]  for the horse having problems in urinating (it does not have any indication when it urinates), the ingredients include vinegar and rice water which are prepared for its drink. The medication for the horse having difficulties in having excrement and urinating, the ingredients include a single- seed garlic and salt, which are to be inserted to its sex. If it cannot be cured using this medication, the garlic and salt are ground and rubbed on the genitals.
[19b]  The herbal medicine for the horse which has problem in breathing includes ingredients such as Morinda Citrifolia, the main turmeric, and ireng Curcuma (Curcuma Aeroginosae). If the horse has problems in urinating, the medicine includes the following ingredients; Alpinia Galanga, black Carum Roxburghianum Benth, nutmeg, jerangan, garlic, manggala salt, and coconut oil , all precipitated for a long time and then diluted with sweet palm juice for herbal medicine. If the horse suffers from diarrhea, it can be cured using the dung of a small cat
[20a]  which is diluted for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse suffering from diarrhea mixed with blood includes ingredients such as coconut milk from two coconuts to be mixed with sugar for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse having problems in urinating, includes ingredients such as; the extract of Zingiber (a plant), Alpinia Galanga, and coriander seeds to be
[20b]  diluted with badeg palm juice ( palm juice which has turned strongly alcoholic) for its herbal medicine. The medication for the horse which has stomach ache include ingredients such as; tata iwak grass and fennel flower all ground and diluted with water for herbal medicine. The medication for the horse which has stomach ache includes ingredients such as; jack fruit, red rice, crystal salt, pepper, jeruk ling-
[21a]  linglang, and fennel all prepared for herbal medicine. The medicine for the horse of which the feathers are falling out, include the ingredients such as the leaves of dapdap (Erythrina Variegata L.) tree which are ground gently, mixed with coconut oil and massaged on the part where the feathers fall out.
[21b]  The medicine for the horse of which the feathers fall out  includes ingredients such as chicken head boiled and mixed with Alpinia Galanga, nutmeg, main turmeric, ireng Curcuma (Curcuma Aeroginosae), and palit salt, of which the juice is given to the horse in the morning. The medication for the horse of which the feathers fall out includes ingredients such as the dog's head , which is boiled and mixed with nutmeg,
[22a]  Alpina Galanga, ireng curcuma (Curcuma Aeroginosae), and palit salt as herbal drink in the morning. The medicine for the horse which has problems in walking because of a pain includes ingredients such as enough manggala salt to be ground for the herbal medicine. The medicine for the horse which has problems in walking because of a pain includes ingredients such as lempuyang, Alpina
[22b]  Galanga, dendeng, coriander seeds, and manggala salt, all to be ground and diluted with sweet palm juice and mixed for the herbal medicine. The medicine for the horse which is out of breath includes ingredients such as young green coconut (of which the flesh is still very soft) , on which a picture of wings surrounded with sticks is inscribed and added with luhur spinach and salt which are mixed for

The medication for the horse which is difficult to be controlled, or which does not obey commands includes ingredients such as; ripe fruit of Morinda Citrifolia L tree, jeruk linglang, shrimp paste, palit salt, gundil pepper and fennel which are all mixed and ground for the herbal medicine.
[23b]  The medication for the horse having difficulties in stepping because a pain, includes ingredients such as one portion of sandawa and two bamboo trees of which the ends have been cut, which are to be burnt and mixed for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse which suffers from stomachache, includes ingredients such as the skin of the stem of Cinnamon tree, Chinese rice wine,
[24a]  beef oil to be ground for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse with swollen stomach includes ingredients such as bacon, cardamom, and beef oil all to be ground for the herbal medicine. This is the herbal medicine for the horse suffering from stomach ache ( with swollen stomach), which includes ingredients such as
[24b]  onion, red clay, long precipitated oil, manggala salt all to be ground and mixed for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse which feels cold includes ingredients such as intaran leaves, manggala salt all to be ground for the herbal medicine. The medicine for the horse which feels cold includes ingredients such as tabia bun (Piper Retrofructum Vahl),
[25a]  added with honey, the flour of sticky rice which is processed into porridge, and if used as the herbal medicine, it should be diluted with coconut milk. The medicine for the horse which feels cold includes ingredients such as the extract of sembung (Blumea Balsamifera) and intaran leaves which are mixed and added with coconut milk for the herbal medicine. The medicine for the horse loosing appetite, includes ingredients such as
[25b]  ripe fruit of Morinda Citrifolia L tree, gundil pepper, jeruk linglang, fennel, and palit salt, which are all mixed for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse having stabbing pain  includes ingredients such as beef oil and newly laid chicken egg all mixed with sweet palm juice, for

The medication for the horse which is weak because of being thin, includes ingredients such as steamed pig's head , ground main turmeric and onion , newly picked tamarind, salt and pure coconut milk all mixed for the herbal medicine. The food for the horse is made from materials such as sticky rice,
[26b]  cow milk, goat milk, gundil pepper, honey, karangean, manggala salt, the skin of Cinnamon tree stem, fennel, and red shrimp paste all ground softly and to be cooked as thick porridge and then fed to the horse.
[27a]  The ingredients for the horse food include lamb's fat, bull muscle all to be softly chopped, added with a small amount of fennel, mixed with green bean which is then fed to the horse. The medication for the horse which often farts includes ingredients such as chili, which
[27b]  is burnt and added with dust, and then ground and added with warm water to be rubbed on its body. The medication for the horse which has stiff back includes such ingredients such as mur (myrrh) which is mixed with two coconut shells of pure rice wine for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse having constipation includes ingredients such as: buah jawa ( a certain type of fruit)
[28a]  Is made into dodol (delicacy cake of glutinous rice) and mixed with pure coconut milk, garlic, milk, oil, manggala salt, deer oil, red shrimp paste, old tamarind, and fennel, mixed with sweet palm juice for the herbal medicine. The medication for the horse which suffers from bikulan ( problems with the muscles or flesh /the muscles and flesh are swollen) includes ingredients such as alum and
[28b]  spices which are to be heated ,and when still hot, it is used as the powder. The herbal medicine for the swollen horse (of which the color is bluish), includes ingredients such as black herb (Cokus atropurpureus), onion and Kaempferia Galanga which are burnt, kalayan leaf, newly laid chicken egg, manggala salt, fennel and red shrimp paste which are burnt and mixed
[29a]  The medication for the horse which gets pricked with a small sharp thing which is broken inside the flesh, includes ingredients such as the charcoal of empag wood, and warirang to be applied on the wounded part. The medication for the horse of which the organs are swollen and reddish includes ingredients such as the leaf of kem ( a certain type of fruit) and
[29b]  burnt main turmeric, ireng Carum Roxburghianum Benth, hard baked using fragments of pottery, and after being cooked, these are mixed with kem leaf, ground softly and added with banyu water (water produced by soaked rice), to be applied as powder on the wounded parts. This is the medication for the horse of which the wound is filled with worms, with the following magic charm as Om uler dadia nanah, nanah dadi getih , getih dadi daging, daging dadi kulit, teka ilang (My God, I sincerely hope that, this diseases can be cured. I hope that the worms will become suppuration, that the suppuration will become blood, that the blood will become flesh and the flesh will become skin)
[30a]  Oh bya muksa. The medication for the horse of which the wound is filled with worms includes ingredients such as the upper part of kacengceng manuk root which is softly ground and burnt, to be applied to the wound in order to be cured. The ingredients of the healing oil for the wounded and
[30b]  Swollen parts of horse ,are also applicable for the tumor, ulcer, and scratches. The ingredients include the leaves of green Ricinus communis, white teleng flower, Hibiscus Rosa sinensis flower, continental Hydro cotyle sibbthorpioides, isep getih, isep nanah, all ground softly and boiled with green coconut milk until
[31a]  it looks oily, and when already cooked, it is mixed with a little pulasahi, saw-dust of sandal wood, lungid fennel, and majakane, each of which is softly ground and then mixed and boiled; after being cooked, it is taken out and fried in a frying pan. The medication for the horse which suffers from a cough, includes such ingredients such as
[31b]  3 chicken eggs for herbal drink every day. The medication for molting horse, includes ingredients such as dry betel leaf which is boiled, mixed with kulabet, of which the juice is used for herbal drink. The medication for the horse falling down frequently (exhausted), includes ingredients such as ireng curcuma, ngingihan mushroom (konara), clove, kuda mushroom,
[32a]  inggu, the bud of kecubung kasihan, genjo, bitter ginger, Cardamom, fennel, honey, pepper, karuk fruit, tamarind already picked and kept for a long time, manggala salt, and pure coconut milk , to be used as the herbal medicine. The medicine for bulen horse (the horse which suffers from stomach ache), includes ingredients such as spices and intaran which are ground,
[32b]  honey , sesame-seeds and manggala salt added with yeh banyu (water produced by soaked rice), and when already boiled, added with kulabet to be used as the herbal drink. The herbal drink for the horse of which the body is painful includes the ingredients such as Chinese rice wine and  beef oil. The medicine for the belur horse ( the horse of which the parts of its body is swollen and black and blue ) includes ingredients such as
[33a]  rumput lepas ( a certain type of grass) and soft rice ( because of being soaked) all ground, and mixed with coconut oil, to be rubbed on to black and blue part . For recovery, the ingredients include young leaf of Mimusops elengi plant, clove, bitter ginger, gundil pepper to be rubbed on the body. The medicine
[33b]  for ngurag horse ( the sickness as a consequence of molting) includes ingredients such as the burnt horse's dung, the ash of which is to be used for washing the hair twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon. The horse shampoo includes ingredients such as sana leaf and pure coconut milk to be used for washing the horse's hair/ and these ingredients can cause the horse's hair including the hair around the neck to grow long and thick. The ingredients of the horse shampoo
[34a]  include orange, the bud of waru (Hibiscus Tiliaceus) leaf and oil which are used for washing the hair. The shampoo for the horse includes ingredients such as tamarind, gandola, the bud of waru leaf which are squeezed and used for washing the horse's hair. The shampoo for the horse, if the horse's hair falls out and the horse itches , is made from vinegar and porridge. The shampoo for the horse includes ingredients such as
[34b]  the extract of turmeric. If the horse's hair falls out (bold) , the ingredients including its burnt dung , the liquid of its ash ( after being added with water) are used for its shampoo. The water for bathing the horse includes ingredients such as; boiled water. The shampoo for the horse includes ingredients such as the fruit of Citrus Papeda tree which is ground,
[35a]  and diluted with pure coconut oil. This is the medicine for the horse of which the hair falls out; the ingredients include its burnt dung added with vinegar and used as the shampoo. The medication for itching horse, includes ingredients such as the dung of a pigeon, half a portion of warangan
[35b]  Oil/ two portions of beacon, all boiled in a frying pan, and when still hot is rubbed on the skin. The herbal medicine for the horse which is thin includes ingredients such as kamarunggi, main turmeric, manggala salt, all to be ground.
[36a]  The herbal medicine for the thin horse includes ingredients such as 5 chicken eggs, beacon, added with spices which cost five coins, and these are all ground gently, diluted and added with enough salt. The herbal medicine
[36b]  for the thin horse includes ingredients such as beacon, bitter ginger, and manggala salt, all ground , and diluted with sweet palm juice for herbal medicine. The herbal medicine for the thin horse, includes ingredients such as; sticky rice, and leaves of jajar tanah, dingin-dingin,
[37a]  angsana , all ground, and added with pure coconut milk, and then boiled in a frying pan. The herbal medicine for the ngurag horse (sickness of molting) includes ingredients such as; bull flesh to be boiled and added with cow milk. The medication for the crazy horse includes ingredients such as
[37b]  Intaran (Azedarachta Indica Juss) leaf, leaf of Mimusops elengi, gundil pepper, bangle (Zingiber Cassummunar Roxb), bitter ginger, jeruk linglang, to be dropped on the nose.
