Danny Blackgoat
Diné/Navaho Elder

Danny Blackgoat is a Diné/Navaho wisdom keeper and language teacher who has been working to keep the Diné language alive and vibrant for more than twenty years. Over the last ten years he has attended the annual Traditional Circle of Indian Elders and Youth where he has sat in joint council among the most respected leaders of Indian nations. Its purpose is to nurture a grassroots renewal of traditional values and worldviews among Indian peoples, to ensure the continuity of Native wisdom, and to bring that wisdom to bear on important issues facing all peoples of the earth.
Mr. Blackgoat will share with us some of the wisdom of the Circle and discuss the advice the elders are offering to the world today.

Anank Nunink Nunkai
Shuar Shaman

Anank is a Shuar Uwishin (traditional healer) from the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest, who is continuously guided by the wisdom of his ancestors and respectfully follows their path with his healing work. He is an expert in Shuar mythology and traditional customs. His mission in life is to help his people and to preserve the beautiful rainforest where he was born.
Anank often can be found in the classroom lecturing on a wide range of topics. He teaches the younger students about the plants and animals of the forest. He talks to older students about Indigenous Permaculture or about the healing properties of North and South American plants. When talking to students about the wonders of the rainforest, Anank hopes he will inspire them to take interest in preserving such a magical and beautiful place.
