Mission
Ringing Rocks Foundation is conserving indigenous healing practices and cultural traditions through education, publishing and grassroots partnerships.
The Foundation supports:
FIELD RESEARCH
Ethnographic work is conducted throughout the world, constituting one of the most intensive and intimate studies of traditional cultural healing practices ever undertaken. The foundation's seminal work, the book series, Profiles of Healing, is a collection of first person narratives from some of the world's most respected indigenous shaman, healers and medicine keepers.
PUBLIC EDUCATION
Various educational programs have been presented ranging from a major event at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in New York City to elementary school presentations and adult programs presented by traditional healers and wisdom keepers.
INDIGENOUS CULTURAL PROGRAMS
Our Discretionary Fund Grants program allow us to work in concert with organizations around the world with the purpose of actively promoting the continuance of indigenous cultures.
SPECIAL PROJECTS AND PARTNERSHIPS
Helping preserve the ancient sacred texts of Bali, digitally preserving the rock art of southern Africa, producing gospel concerts in New Orleans to reunite a community, helping restore ancient Jewish mystical manuscripts, and establishing a Kalahari Bushman healing conservancy are just some of the projects the foundation has undertaken.
